But I’m strangely okay with ‘chick’ … I’m sure I’ll come a cropper for that admission!

I’ll start. I hate the word ‘sheila’ so that gets my vote for most annoying/
I use ‘crikey’ all the time and every time I say it I feel like I should be in a newspaper comic strip. I started using it when I had to cut back on sweat words in front of the littl’un.
So ‘crikey’ is probably my favourite.
Leon Della BoscaMemberWe’ll get Drew on the case, Bullfright!
Leon Della BoscaMemberGood one. I’m of the school that, assuming I live a good life, once I’m gone it won’t affect me. It’s the effect I have on my loved ones that matters. That’s your legacy.
I used to get (and still do, every now and then, to tell the truth) really sad about what would happen when I die. How much I would miss. But I won’t. Because I’ll be dead. I’d like to think I will be missed (in a good way), and that will only happen if my actions while alive matter and make a difference to those I leave behind.
TBH, you could talk about this one for days. I’m super keen to see what our members think about this one.
Leon Della BoscaMemberYeesh – seems I swing both ways!
Still, it’s maddening how many studies there are that claim alcohol is good/bad. I wish we could have consensus so I know how many beers I can have each week!

29 November 2022 at 11:43 am in reply to: Which business or service would you complain about right now? #1783009Leon Della BoscaMemberHi Jem,
Sorry to hear of your issues with Centrelink. We have dealings with the staff and with Hank, the GM, and have always found them good to deal with. i think they have the best of intentions, but it is always going to be an uphill battle managing hundreds of thousands of customers. Which parts of the system do you find particularly onerous? Maybe we can help?Leon Della BoscaMemberHas anyone here seen this movie?
About a bunch of prisoners who embrace the beauty of weeds and turn them into an award-winning garden. Very cool…
Leon Della BoscaMemberI’ve used Slasher, too, but you really have to get the mixture right. I err on the side of stronger, because there have been a couple of times where the ‘right-on’ mixture hasn’t been enough to kill the weeds.
The only way to get rid of them is to dig them up. But then there are some you dig up and it only makes it worse!Leon Della BoscaMemberMy favourite Kmart products are the t-shirts!
Leon Della BoscaMemberHi Doug,
It is a shame that the forum has lost ‘oomph’ but it’s passionate members like yourself who could play a big part in bringing it back. We’re open to suggestions as to what it will take to make it lively community. The YLC team is trying to provide good topics to talk about but it’s a member forum and that’s who we need to breathe new life back into this area of the site.
Feel free to email us with suggestions or to make them on this thread. Same goes for anyone else who’s willing to share opinions!
Thanks for your feedback and we hope you stick around.Leon Della BoscaMemberI love baking. I wonder if eating bakery goods has a similar effect? 😉
Leon Della BoscaMemberHi Stuart,
I would recommend talking to the team at Retirement Essentials – tell them we sent you!5 September 2022 at 1:36 pm in reply to: Centerlink pensions when wife is working and not on pension #1710184Leon Della BoscaMemberHi Stuart,
Thanks for reaching out. Without getting into the realm of ‘advice’ it would seem that if your wife is earning money and is not of pension age, then you may well be receiving the right pension. Having said that, I would suggest you contact a Services Australia Financial Information Service Officer who will be able to answer your specific question.
Hope that helps!Leon Della BoscaMemberHi RnR – we have visuals!
Leon Della BoscaMemberSurprised ‘Justified’ isn’t on this list. A lot of filler in this top 100, IMO.
