I work on a casual basis as a School Crossing Supervisor aka ‘lollipop lady’.
Being in a regional area, dividing these duties between 3 country towns, I consider the pay to be not bad at all considering the time actually supervising and have never ever had any vehicle try to ‘mow me down’. In fact, the majority of vehicles actually stop as soon as children approach and stand behind the white line and patiently wait whilst all children have been safely supervised to the other side of the road.
In gratitude, I give these motorists a thankful wave.
