NO. If you become an Australian Citizen then you abide by Australian Laws and Customs. Religion should not decide on holidays regardless of which following is observed. Christmas and Easter holidays are not just followed here in Australia, they are worldwide.
ronlobyParticipantYes, but are they Australian Made??
ronlobyParticipantSport and Politics should be a UNIVERSE apart, end of story!
ronlobyParticipantDon’t know about Vegi hot cross buns but on other pieces of bread yes. Vegemite is good for you and tastes great. Toasted cheese and vegemite sandwiches are great. NO not VHCBs.
ronlobyParticipantThe World Press is a law unto itself, with no rules to abide by. They print what they want, true or false, regardless of whom it hurts or upsets.
15 December 2022 at 10:21 am in reply to: Is Australia Day the right time to hold citizenship ceremonies? #1785153ronlobyParticipantWhy not? There must be a “DAY” to officially welcome new people into our country. Just because 26 January stirs some people a bit doesn’t mean we can’t use Australia Day. Maybe we could use Christmas Day instead because that is a public holiday also. Let’s get real people and use the 26th of January.
ronlobyParticipantYes, but why does the price go up when the oil price goes down?
6 December 2022 at 9:39 am in reply to: Why supermarket giant is trialling colour-coded registers #1783774ronlobyParticipantI don’t use the self-serve registers as I prefer to be served by a real person.
ronlobyParticipantI have no problem with the myGov app. I don’t get very many emails from them so I’m happy with it.
ronlobyParticipantYes, I think 16 or 17-year-old young people should be given the option of voting in State elections and 18 year old for Federal Elections. This would allow them to gain more knowledge of political goings-on and the ins and outs of the different political parties.
ronlobyParticipantThe remains of King Richard III were discovered beneath a car park in Leicester, England.
ronlobyParticipantHow is flood proofing a home going to help? The next flood is going to put water in their home regardless of what is done. I suppose the house could be put on stilts so it is above the waterline. I am not being sarcastic about this but let’s get real about what could happen with the next major flood event due to climate change. Flood mitigation must be researched by state and federal governments then changes made to where residential buildings are positioned in regard to new water lines.
ronlobyParticipantThis sort of “Chic” living should not even be considered. I do not see how it would pass a council inspection. This shows how money hungry some apartment owners are. I would not pay $200 a week for this cramped room let alone $520. Getting breakfast and watch your friend take a shower “whoopee!”
ronlobyParticipantAll government political advertising should come from political party funds NOT our taxes. If this was the case, then imagine all the new hospitals and other urgent stuff that could be built.
ronlobyParticipantThis person should spend a couple of hours with the SES to find out how bad the weather has changed the workload of the SES. She then might change her attitude towards them.
ronlobyParticipantNo! there should be NO advertising of gambling products of any sort on TV, Radio or Billboards. It is about time the Government stepped in and stopped ALL sorts of gambling adverts period!!!
23 September 2022 at 11:51 am in reply to: Push for speed-limiting tech to be installed in new cars #1718880ronlobyParticipantThis limiting of speed is OK in some regards but, Overtaking a slower vehicle is where the problem lies. I think a lot more trials are needed before things change.
21 September 2022 at 9:49 am in reply to: Calls for jewel to be removed from royal crown and returned #1712839ronlobyParticipantWho does India think they are? Bought by the United Kingdom so now belongs to them, so tell India where to go!
16 September 2022 at 9:47 am in reply to: Another questionable allocation of taxpayer funds? #1711702ronlobyParticipantThis is called “mates rates”. As long as the receiving people support the government the money will flow. How many more of these “grants” has flown under the radar?
ronlobyParticipantYes, 24/7 on most television stations is a bit much I think. Televising the exact event would have been more appropriate.
