During a visit to the picturesque NSW south coast, alongside local Labor MP Fiona Phillips, the Prime Minister expressed his admiration for the area, describing it as ‘one of the most beautiful and picturesque parts of Australia’. The $5 million pledge is set to fund the Nowra Riverfront Activation Plan, a visionary project that has been brewing for years and finally presented to the local council in 2023.
The project is expected to unite the central business district with the riverfront, creating a cohesive and inviting space that will make Nowra an even more attractive place to live and visit.
The Nowra Riverfront Activation Plan incorporates hundreds of ideas to transform the banks of the Shoalhaven River at Nowra, focusing on improving the waterway’s health while enhancing its overall appeal.
Additionally, it seeks to revitalise the central business district by introducing more green and social spaces, fostering a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere for residents and visitors alike.
