American environmental organisation, Environmental Working Group (EWG), specialises in research and advocacy in the areas of toxic chemicals, agricultural subsidies, public lands, and corporate accountability.
The group has conducted a study on foods and pesticides, and has created both the Dirty Dozen list (foods that contain the most pesticide residue) and the Clean Fifteen list, which are the fruit and veg that contain relatively few pesticides and low total concentrations of pesticide residues.
