How to reduce leg veins

If you are embarrassed by leg veins, there are many natural remedies you can use to reduce their appearance – and the good news is you probably already have them in your pantry.

Leg veins are often a consequence of poor circulation coupled with long periods of standing or sitting. One way to minimise leg veins is to stay active and not spend hours in the same position.

For those stubborn veins you already have, throw open your cupboards, and experiment with the remedies below. For visible results, the following routines need to be carried out daily over a few months. Remember, though, not to push down too much on bulging veins.

Apple cider vinegar
Apply undiluted apple cider vinegar on the skin over the varicose veins and gently massage the area. Do this before going to bed and again in the morning.

Cayenne pepper
Add a teaspoon of cayenne pepper powder to a cup of hot water and stir it well. Drink this mixture three times a day.

Olive oil
Mix equal amounts of olive oil and vitamin E oil and warm it slightly. Massage the veins with the warm oil for several minutes, twice a day.

Garlic
Slice six garlic cloves and put them in a glass jar. Add the juice of three oranges to the jar along with 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Let the mixture sit for 12 hours.

Shake the jar and then put a few drops of the solution on your veins and massage in a circular motion for 15 minutes. Wrap a cotton cloth over the area and leave overnight.

Witch hazel
Two or three times a day, place a washcloth soaked in witch hazel on the affected area for a few minutes. Then wash the area and pat it dry.

Parsley
Grab a bunch of fresh parsley and boil it in a cup of water for a few minutes. Allow the solution to cool until it is lukewarm then strain it.

Add a drop of marigold and rose essential oils and refrigerate for several minutes.

Each day, dab some of the solution onto the affected area.

Coconut oil
Warm a little coconut oil until it has the consistency of olive oil. Using gentle upward strokes, massage your legs at least once a day.
