The MOVICOL® Bathroom Behaviour Report, commissioned to investigate Australians’ bathroom behaviour and attitudes, revealed that nine in 10 of us have experienced constipation at some point in our lives. Nearly three quarters (73 per cent) of us have ‘held on’ rather than using toilets that were available, with 25 per cent of women confessing to “holding on and waiting until later” when at a friend or partner’s home.
Other findings from the report showed that most Australians are “doing number two” in the morning and that nearly three quarters (74 per cent) of all Aussies have a bowel movement at least once a day.
Interestingly, Australians have done some questionable things whilst using the loo. Nearly two thirds (three in five) of respondents admit to taking their phone to the toilet with them, over two in five (44 per cent) text whilst using the toilet and a staggering two in five (44 per cent) confess to answering a call whilst on the throne.
The MOVICOL® Bathroom Behaviour Report also offers insight into the great toilet seat debate, revealing that over a third (34 per cent) of men believe that women should be the ones to put the toilet seat up.
