Ever since she burst onto our screens in Woody Allen’s 1977 film Annie Hall, Diane Keaton has been one of the most heavily copied style icons on the planet.
Wearing a pair of khaki slacks with a men’s shirt, tie and waistcoat, her character’s iconic androgynous glamour would set the precedent for Ms Keaton’s own quirky and off-beat style that has charmed audiences over the years.
And while her outfits from the ’70s and ’80s are the stuff of fashion legend, she’s also something of a modern style icon on social media, and fans are regularly #blessed with Ms Keaton’s OOTDs. As the star turned 75 in January, we’ve taken a look at some of her recent fashion hits.

1. All black everything
She’s no stranger to a hat, but Ms Keaton’s fashion uniform has changed significantly in recent years, and she’s swapped her ’70s berets for tall fedoras.
Ms Keaton recently filmed an entire video of her hat collection, which she shared on Instagram, telling her fans that they are the perfect prescription for quarantine hair.

2. Suited and booted
In a throwback to her Annie Hall days, Ms Keaton looked fantastic in a pair of high-waisted camel trousers with a matching, double-breasted coat.
Proving her style is timeless, we could totally see her wearing this outfit back in her heyday.
3. Belting it
Perhaps the greatest thing about Diane Keaton’s personal style is that she’s not afraid to experiment with proportions. Take this epic ballooned skirt for example, which she’s cinched in at the waist with a chunky belt. It almost looks like a piece of conceptual art.
We’re also pretty obsessed with the fact she’s still wearing platform shoes in her 70s. This flame-embellished pair were a gift from Hollywood costume designer Susan Becker.
4. Checking out
When you’re an actual style icon, you can get away with pretty much anything. That includes only wearing monochrome as a style rule.
We think Ms Keaton looks incredible in this gingham smock dress, which she paired with white boots, footless tights and an athleisure cap. Scandinavian fashion Instagrammers, eat your heart out.
5. Colour
In a recent Instagram post, Diane Keaton disclosed she’d not worn colour in over four years – a rather amazing feat for such a fashionable woman. Here she is breaking her colour ban in a vibrant orange dress.

6. Feeling feminine
Proving you’re never too old to rock a skirt and bare legs, Ms Keaton recently swerved her usual masculine style for a box-pleated skirt, white shirt and heels.
If you ask us, we think the socks and chic leather bag really complete the look.
7. All in white
One thing to note about Ms Keaton is that her interiors are basically an extension of her wardrobe, and getting a peek into her incredibly chic, monochrome house makes us want to throw out every bit of colour we own.
We especially love this cream suit, which she accessorised with her favourite chunky black boots.
8. Taking risks
The best thing about Diane Keaton? She never takes herself too seriously. “It looks like I’m wearing a tent. Or is it a cone?” Ms Keaton wrote about this outfit choice on Instagram.
Whether you love it or loathe it (we’re personally a fan), you have to give the woman credit for marching to the beat of her own style drum and not following the rest of the fashion pack.
What do you think of Diane Keaton’s style? Would you wear any of these outfits?
