It’s getting chilly.
Time to plan your winter wardrobe.
Oh la la. What to wear? What to buy?
Don’t worry, I’ve put together a list of the key pieces I love and have been wearing. Constantly.
As you can see from my Instagram, I’m all about rewearing your wardrobe.
These are pieces I know will work. I know you will love. I know they have mileage.
These are pieces that will instantly joosh up your wardrobe.
Buy just one (or all of them!) and you’ll instantly revive a tired daggy wardrobe.
Remember the FiFi philosophy: update, update, update!
Update to new groovy shapes – it’s only the colours that are classic.
That’s the way you’ll inject excitement and drama into your wardrobe: With modern slouchy shapes not with pesky prints, kooky colours or frumpy florals. They are trouble. Never versatile. Ageing.
Welcome to an easy, versatile, modern wardrobe!

Your winter checklist: luxe to less.
Green khaki puffer jacket
Which: It should be big. Slouchy. It should be long (over the bottom). Khaki/brown. Collarless. Like a cardigan.
Why: This is cool! Khaki will instantly add vava voom to black, white and brown. And it’s not camel; just as versatile.
Buy here and here, here and here.
Leather slouchy pants
Which: they should be cut like jeans. They can be black or brown. You want them loose. Relaxed. Tight = wrong.
Why: Instant edge. Comfortable. No ironing. Any black needs texture. Wear day to evening to weekends. I live in mine.
White/cream knee-high boots
Which: You need knee high, round toe –that’s the most versatile. Pointy is okay. Cream or tan is better than too bright white. Au revoir ankle boots.
Why: Great under wide cropped jeans. Fabulous with long skirts. They lighten the look. Work wonders. Instant wardrobe joosh. They love camel. Adore black. Want to kiss choc brown. Done.
Cream knit big sweater
Which: You want a polo neck. Big. slouchy. In cream or white.
Why: It’s your go-to under everything (no more default to black). Fabulous with camel. Looks chic with skirts, chinos or jeans. White next to the face takes 10 years off. I should know. Must buy.
Long brown oversized coat
Which: Long. Mid shin. In brown or camel. Grey is good too. Big. slouchy. Belted or not. Oversized = effortless.
Why: Outerwear needs to makes a statement (i.e. not black). Adores sneakers (it’s a fashion match made in heaven!) Loves boots. Jeans. It’s comfortable.
Wide leg jeans
Which: Wide leg jeans can be short, cropped. Long wide leg is cool too. Flared or culottes. In any colour denim. Hint: Light wash looks particularly chic and fresh with camel and cream.
Why: Update your jeans and you update your life. Wide jeans are flattering. A high waist will suck in the ‘situation’. Instantly make your old last season tops look new (tuck them in). These jeans love sneakers and flats more than anything.
A shacket
Which: A shacket is a shirt jacket. It’s big. You wear it open like a jacket. Might be in denim, leather or wool melton. It should cover the bottom. Look like you just threw it on.
Why: It’s really just a casual jacket. A fabulous layering piece. Wear it over white polo neck or white tee. It looks great on weekends. When a blazer is too dressed up.
Chinos
Which: Go for wide leg, high waist. Or straight leg but slouchy. You want beige. Khaki. Camel. In casual cotton.
Why: Because they are not jeans. Or black pants. But just as versatile. Just as casual. Wear with sequins. Or with knits. With heels. Or sneakers. Instantly lighten up your entire wardrobe.
Buy wide leg here or here and here.
White flats
Which: You need flats. They look so modern. Look for white mules or pointy flats. A loafer or a sneaker. Of course Birkenstocks are cool. A white flatform brogue is good too.
Why: White shoes will lighten up your wardrobe. And your life. Makes everything else look modern. Will link back to your cream sweater. Your white tee. Adds an unexpected edge. Do not go past until you have sneakers, pointy toe or loafers.
