If you haven’t already noticed, earrings are having a major moment right now. Back with a vengeance, forget necklaces, bracelets or rings; all you need to knock ‘em dead this season is a statement pair of earrings.
A slightly dangerous trend because while bigger is better, heavier is obviously not. Not a huge ‘earring’ gal myself, last year I started re-wearing (read: re-pierced my ears) a pair of diamond studs on a daily basis. And now I have embraced the return of big earrings with open arms, despite the protests from my poor ear lobes.
Why am I such a fan? Earrings are an easy and inexpensive way to take an average outfit and make it special. Also, given their proximity to your face, they have the ability to draw attention to your features. Just make sure you opt for a hypoallergenic (usually nickel-free) pair that isn’t too heavy … you don’t want to be that woman with her earrings on the table halfway through the night!
Here are five of my favourite statement pairs to see you through the season and instantly add that wow factor to your outfit.
