Paying homage to the special relationship between grandmothers and their granddaughters, ‘A Present’ is a poignant photography project by Lithuanian artists, jeweller Giedre Duoble and photographer Ugne Henriko.
The project reflects on the bond between grandmothers and granddaughters through the presents passed down from the older to the younger generation, which serve as symbols of love and longevity.
“The project is about presents that are intended to be kept forever,” says Duoble.
Graphic designer, Goda Jackute’s gift – a necklace made of black amber – once worn by her grandmother Elena on her wedding day.
Giedre Duoble, a jeweller, received her grandmother Regina’s Singer sewing machine.
Singer Dovile Filmanaviciute received a gift of textiles woven by her grandmother, Stanislava.
Laima Kybartiene, a TV presenter, sitting with her granddaughters, Auguste and Kotryna, and the jewellery box that is their present.
