How to have fun

It comes around just once a year and this year was the best yet – so what is it? The Apia Good Times Tour, featuring the inimitable Brian Cadd, Glenn Shorrock, Kate Cebrano and Joe Camillieri. Here’s our behind the scenes review

We are truly blessed to be part of this fun national rock ‘n’ roll party every year. On 24 May the concert came to the much-loved Palais Theatre in Melbourne. First up on stage was Joe Camillieri – a trouper on the saxophone, joined by Wilbur Wilde to belt out hits including Hit and Run and Harley and Rose. Next the sublime Kate Cebrano hit the stage – with a smile that lights up the world.  Her rendition of her top selling hit Passionate Kisses brought us to our feet. Things were warming up – and then a biblical figure with flowing silver hair made his way to the keyboard – yes, it was Brian Cadd with a bagful of hits to take us all back – including his number one crowd pleaser Little Ray of Sunshine. Last, but never least, Glenn Shorrock rocked out with a strong set of Little River Band classics, before Joe, Kate and Brian returned for a rousing finale. There’s nothing old about these rockers – they are highly professional and joyous musicians who are capable of taking us back to our younger years. By the end of the concert the audience was dancing hard – and singing along enthusiastically – easy when you know the words!

Watch Joe, Kate, Brian and Glenn talk about their good times.
