What do Leo Sayer, Kate Ceberano, Joe Camilleri, Vika and Linda Bull, John Paul Young, Deborah Conway, Brian Cadd and Wendy Matthews have in common?
Well, apart from being legendary Australian musicians, they’re also hitting the road to play their myriad hits on the Apia Good Times Tour 2020!
“A big year deserves something big,” says Australian television presenter Glenn Ridge. “And this year we’ve put together our biggest line-up yet.
“It’s gotta be the gig of the year.”
His enthusiasm is matched by the eight amazing musicians who’ll grace the stage to play all their classics at venues all over the country.
For 30 years, Victorian Music Hall of Fame entrants Vika and Linda Bull have comprised one of the most distinctive, versatile and emotionally charged sounds on the Australian music landscape. This year, the duo, who are working on their first full length album of original material in 18 years, bring their celebrated ‘pipes’ to the Apia stage, sharing soul, gospel, blues, country and the island music of their Tongan ancestry.
“We’re so excited, say Vika and Linda Bull. “We love this tour so much!”
John Paul Young OAM is undoubtedly one of Australia’s most popular artists, with a string of hits, and over 4 million record sales, cementing him a place in Australia’s music history.
“To still be doing this at my age is a dream come true” he says.
The man who makes you feel like dancing, Leo Sayer, needs no introduction as a heralded live performer and recording artist. Throughout his 40-plus year career, he’s had more than twenty Top 10 singles, five Top 10 albums and two US #1 hit singles, including You Make Me Feel Like Dancing, which also won him a Grammy.
Apia Good Times is thrilled to have him on stage again in 2020.
“When you hear the audience all join in and sing along, it’s magic, it’s one of the great Apia moments,” says Leo Sayer.
These artists join more Australian rock and pop royalty who’ll take the stage for the Good Times Tour – a night of non-stop hits coming to a venue near you from May through until June.
