Phryne is a glamorous detective who swans through the back lanes and jazz clubs of Melbourne in 1929, fighting injustice by wielding her pearl-handled pistol and cutting wit. Deep down, however, her motivation to fight crime stems from her own dark past, which she cannot completely escape. Phryne is charming and elegant, keeping admirers at bay while dancing around Detective Inspector Jack Robinson.
The third series of Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries builds on the meticulously constructed world of series’ one and two. Phryne leads viewers with humour and grace, through shadowy lanes, grand halls and high-class brothels of Melbourne between the war years.
