Here’s a zany story.
Proving that you’re never too old to fulfil your dreams, 102-year-young Edie Simms has ticked being arrested, handcuffed and put in the back of a police car off her bucket-list.
Accompanied by St Louis police officers (who were all too happy to help), Ms Simms was cheerful after being picked up from her home and escorted to the city’s Five Star Senior Centre in handcuffs.
This was a treat for Ms Simms, who has been making and donating handmade items, such as eyeglass cases, pillows and scarves to the senior centre’s residents for some time.
This was the first time the residents had met Ms Simms.
After learning of her bucket list, one of the senior centre’s volunteers called in a favour to a police officer friend and they set about making Ms Simm’s wish of being arrested a reality.
Once inside the centre, Ms Simms was able to meet the residents, play bingo and hand out free pairs of homemade socks and scarves.
When asked if she’d enjoyed her ride, Simms said, “Oh yes, handcuffs and all!”
What’s the zaniest item on your bucket list?
