The recall was initiated after it was discovered that the battery in these DVD players could overheat and catch fire, posing a serious risk of injury, death, or property damage. The affected products were sold at JB Hi-Fi stores from January 1 to October 7. If you or someone you know purchased a Blaupunkt dual-screen portable DVD player during this period, it’s essential to check the serial number immediately.
The serial numbers in question range from AGL37790001 to AGL37791000. If your device falls within this range, the ACCC advises you to stop using it immediately. For those impacted by this recall, JB Hi-Fi is offering a full refund.
