Previously, numbers logged on the Do Not Call register had to be re-registered every eight years. In a move to make it easier for all, registration will now be permanent.
By registering your details on the Do Not Call register, you can opt-out of receiving unsolicited calls and marketing faxes. If your number is already on the register, there is no need for you to do anything, it will be classed as permanent. You can check or remove your number from the register at any time and all new registration will also be permanent.
You can register any mobile or landline numbers which are used primarily for private or domestic purposes. However, registered charities, market researchers education institutions and registered political parties are permitted. The Register is not designed to stop scam calls and you should be cautious when receiving unsolicited calls.
To check your current registration, or make a new registration, visit donotcall.gov.au or call 1300 792 958.
