Shazam works by using your device’s microphone to ‘listen’ to a piece of music being played, and then matches the sample against a database in order to find a song title. It’s one of the most effective and robust song-identifying apps around; not only does it give the artist, track name, and album, but also the year the of the song and record label that produced it. 2. SoundHound
SoundHound can identify a song just by having you hum the tune or sing a few lyrics; It will then provide you with the information. 5. SpotSearch
Integrated with online music station Spotify, SpotSearch lets you identify a song by typing in a few lyrics. The app finds the song and then neatly links you to Spotify to play it. If you don’t have Spotify Premium (the paid version of the music station), the app will link you to YouTube so you can play it there instead.
