How to add proof of COVID-19 vaccinations to your device

It won’t be too long until showing proof of your vaccination status is key to your ability to move around Australia, and with this in mind Services Australia is already making it easy for this to be displayed on your device.

There will obviously be many privacy concerns around this, but the most important thing to keep in mind is that your COVID-19 digital certificate provided by the government only shows your COVID-19 vaccinations and nothing else.

Once you have had all of your required doses and your immunisation record has been updated, you can get your COVID-19 digital certificate.

Your vaccination provider records your vaccination details on the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR), but it can take up to 10 days to update your immunisation record.

You can then add your COVID-19 digital certificate to your Apple Wallet or Google Pay using either the Express Plus Medicare mobile app or your Medicare online account through myGov.

If you are using the Express Plus Medicare mobile app you will need to select Immunisation history from ‘Services’.

If you don’t already have a myGov account, head over to the myGov website and click the ‘Create a myGov account’ button.
