When it comes to choosing appliances for your home, are there brands you tend to gravitate towards? Most of us have our favourites and now comparison website Finder has determined just which appliance brands are Australia’s favourites.
Finder, in collaboration with data insights group Dynata, has surveyed more than 10,000 Aussies on their preferred appliance brands across 20 categories as part of Finder’s Customer Satisfaction Awards.
For each type of appliance tested, Aussies voted on preferred brands across a number of metrics including product features, reliability, value for money and ease of use. Scores were then weighted to determine the winners of three awards for each appliance type: the most loved, most reliable and the top value brands.
Sunbeam walked away with the most appliance awards of any brand (six), followed by Breville and Miele (five each) and Haier (four).
Four brands had a complete clean sweep, winning all three awards for their appliance type – Bosch for dishwashers, Miele for ovens, Sunbeam for rice cookers and Big W’s Brilliant Basics for microwaves.
Chris Jager, retail specialist at finder says it pays to do your research and not just blindly buy all your appliances from the one brand.
“Some brands have definitely cracked the formula for a product category like Bosch for dishwashers and Miele for ovens,” he says.
“However, in other categories there’s a clear difference in which brands Aussie’s perceive as the best value versus the most reliable.”
Overall, LG was voted Australia’s most loved appliance brand, Sunbeam the most reliable and Kmart the best value appliances.
“The appliance space is fiercely competitive so a huge congratulations to Sunbeam for taking out the most individual awards and to LG for being named the most loved appliance brand due to strong scores across the board,” Mr Jager says.
