Canadians are friendly, funny, affable and, most of all, polite.
The world could do with a little more Canadian. At least that’s what Air Canada thinks.
And who knows, the North American carrier may be right.
Unlike Australians who don’t have the world’s best reputation as well-behaved tourists, Canadians are perceived as some of the most liked travellers in the world.
Want to know how they get this sparkly rep? Air Canada wants to tell you, with a series of promotions featuring prominent Canadians explaining how to travel like a Canadian.
The first promo in the Travel Like a Canadian campaign features Emmy-nominated actor Sandra Oh, one of Canada’s most recognisable stars and considered by many to embody true Canadian values. Oh flits though an airport, helping fellow passengers, bribing rowdy children to behave and basically just getting along with people. Sure, she’s paid to do it, but she really does look like she’s having fun with it.
“We’re excited to have created a platform for Canadians like Sandra Oh to tell the world about the values that make our country great,” said Andy Shibata managing director, brand, at Air Canada.
“The Travel Like a Canadian campaign is an opportunity to share how Canadian values like multiculturalism, openness, compassion and equality make us some of the best travellers in the world.”
Sandra Oh is the first in a line of celebrities who’ll be spreading the Air Canada love. Keep an eye on this space to see more.
Here’s how to do it, according to Air Canada.
Do you think the world could do with a little more ‘Canada’?
