I retired last November and decided to travel overseas with my best friend, Marie, who I went travelling with through Europe, Britain and Ireland back in 1984. This holiday was my first time in 32 years that I had been overseas. Off we went to Hong Kong with Cathay Pacific and stayed at The Salisbury YMCA Hong Kong. The location cannot be beaten – water views, classy hotel, shopping malls, subway locations on several corners upon exiting the hotel; the Star ferry a block away; and the central bus area is in front of the Star ferry access. We ventured out each day on the train and shopped; I came back home with 20 pairs of shoes as I have very small feet – they loved me! Our friend, who lives there, took us to all the tourist places, which we enjoyed. The weather going into winter was hot. Then we took the ferry over to Macau and stayed at the Sheraton Macau for a few days – this hotel didn’t disappoint! Love the walkways through to the shopping malls and eventually into the Venetian. Old Macau is so beautiful! Marie and I took 99 per cent selfies because we want people to know we were there. I’m the lady with the blonde reddish hair … This was a fantastic holiday and I can’t wait for the next big adventure.
