Have you ever wanted to take a dressy brimmed hat with you on holiday but didn’t know how to pack it in a suitcase? Here’s how to do it crush-free in five simple steps.
1. Put your hat in first
Place your hat in the empty suitcase because you are going to pack around it.
2. Stack and pack
If you are packing more than one hat, stack them inside each other.
3. Pack it upside down
Place your hat upside down on top of one soft item of clothing.
4. Pack around
Using only soft items of clothing, pack a ‘cushion’ around your hat, filling in the gaps underneath the brim to the level of the brim.
5. Stuff it
Finally, stuff your hat with soft items, flush across the top.

Also, make sure you don’t pack hard items, such as shoes, toiletries and electronics against your hat. If you do pack these items in your bag, ensure that you have a buffer of soft clothes as a cushion.
Then unpack your hats as soon as you arrive at your destination.
