NSW residents are set to receive a $50 accommodation voucher to help kickstart the state’s tourism recovery.
Premier Dominic Perrottet said the ‘Stay and Rediscover’ vouchers would work like the Dine and Discover scheme, except that they can only be spent on accommodation including hotels, caravan parks and camping grounds.

“We know it has been particularly difficult for certain industries over the last 12 to 18 months, and accommodation and tourism have suffered significantly,” Premier Dominic Perrottet told reporters. “And we’re getting in front”.
“We’ve got some of the best tourism opportunities, the best hotels in the world, and you want people to go out support those businesses that have been doing it tough,” he added.
The program will start as a pilot in November with a state rollout expected in March 2022.

It follows the state government’s announcement last week that adults in NSW would receive two additional $25 Dine and Discover vouchers, to use towards hospitality and entertainment, valid until June 2022.
The new accommodation vouchers form part of a $500 million tourism recovery package.
Some $150 million will be spent to support major events in the state, $25 million will go toward struggling festivals, while $60 million will encourage airlines to increase Sydney flights.

$40 million is also set aside as an ‘Event Saver Fund’ as relief for organisers who faced cancellations during lockdown.
Unrestricted trips between Greater Sydney and the regions can recommence on 1 November.
