With Christmas just around the corner (yes, it will be here sooner than you think!), many would-be travellers dream of escaping the madness of the silly season to a place of peace and quiet. And the good news is, it’s not too late to find cheap Christmas flights to most destinations.
As many of you avid Travel News readers may know, the best time to book flights is three to four months away from your preferred departure date.
The week before Christmas Day and the week after are typically the busiest travel times, but Christmas Day itself is not a day on which people like to fly. So, there’s one day on which you’ll definitely find an inexpensive airfare.
But if you’re not inclined to spend Christmas morning at the airport and the day on a plane, then there are plenty of other places to which you can fly that are currently offering savings of up to 34 per cent. According to Skyscanner, these include:
- Sydney to London: save 37 per cent (best time to book: 16–22 October)
- Sydney to Phuket: save 20 per cent (best time to book: 9–15 October)
- Melbourne to Ho Chi Minh: save 21 per cent (best time to book: 30 October–5 November)
- Brisbane to Singapore: save 28 per cent (best time to book: 2–8 October)
- Perth to Bangkok: save 22 per cent (best time to book: 30 October –5 November)
Many of you will have planned your Christmas holidays months ago, but for the rest of you, there’s still hope for an inexpensive Christmas/New Year getaway – as you can see!
