We realise we’ve written a few articles now on innovative new suitcases, but in our defence, that is mainly due to the fact that the evolution of luggage is looking fascinating. And super smart.
In case you missed them we’ve previously covered the ShelfPack and Bluesmart suitcases but the Trunkster could quite possibly leave them both for dead.
In a nutshell, the Trunkster is zipperless, rolltop luggage with USB charging, a digital scale and location tracking. Did you get all that?
Setting an impossibly high standard of suitcase, it promises to “bid farewell to the brittle zippers, cumbersome flaps, flimsy handles and unreliable wheels we’ve been forced to accept as the norm.” Quite frankly, as a seasoned traveller, they had me at zipperless, but that’s a story for another day.
So how does it work? Well rather than having to zip your bag up, you simply open or close the rolltop door. Not only does this innovation make your life simpler, it also provides a higher level of security for your belongings, as opposed to cases with vulnerable and flimsy zippers.
With the addition of USB charging, complete with a removable battery, in all carry-on models, there’s no need to fight off fellow passengers for almost extinct power points in airports either.
Forget trying to awkwardly weigh your bag on the bathroom scales too. The ingenious addition of a built-in digital scale allows you to simply lift your bag and see the, hopefully within allowance, weight, in either lbs or kgs.
Obviously with such a smart and sophisticated looking piece of luggage, you’d also be concerned about another passenger ‘mistaking’ it for their own. Thankfully Trunkster also has location tracking features allowing your suitcase to be tracked anywhere in the world with GSM coverage. Looks like they’ve literally thought of everything!
