Lost Captain – this restaurant and taphouse is soon to be the newest waterhole on the block in Huonville. Formerly Huon Manor Restaurant, the stylish renovations include a beer garden out front ideal for a local brew by the river.
Touchwood Farm Goat Dairy – want to meet some kids? On Sundays, the farm swings open its gate to visitors. These happy goats roam across 30 acres in the far south wilderness on a farm dedicated to permaculture principles. Drop in for some goat yoghurt ice cream, fudge or try the delicious goat milk caramel.
New accommodation finds

Think textured linen and cloud-like mattresses. Guests can even have dinner delivered to the door from the River Run Tavern nearby. And, of course, there’s an outdoor bath!
The Roundhouses – these eco-houses are indeed round! Architecturally designed and beautifully appointed, the roundhouses are made with all natural materials including strawbale, timbers and lime render. Kombi Kamp – get your ’70s kicks with a stay in Frida, an original 1975 VW Kombi. Nestled by a mountain stream on an 80-acre farm in the Huon Valley, Kombi Kamp is a quirky off-grid offering. Guests can even have Frida themed up in boho ivory, mandala magic or flower power. There’s a comfy double bed, toasty open fire pit and a pot belly stove at this unique Huon getaway.
Laid Back Manor – settle into your own private cabin with a swinging outdoor chair and your own private mini golf course. Now that’s laid back!
