Never one to be outdone, Virgin Australia aims to match Qantas by offering free inflight wifi internet on all Australian flights by the end of the year.
Qantas inflight wifi is now available on some domestic flights. And with average download speeds of up to 15Mbps, it’s pretty fast too – and completely free.
Virgin launched its own inflight wifi on selected flights between Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane and this week announced plans to outfit its Boeing 737 fleet with satellites.
The airline says it will offer a two-tier system, with basic wifi offered free and the option to upgrade to a premium service with better security and faster download speeds.
So, not quite ‘matching’ Qantas, whose inflight internet is fast and free to all travellers.
