Where did 2016 go? How is it December is almost over? What am I doing with my life?
All very valid questions – sadly ones for which I do not have a good answer. Thankfully, the ever-reliable Lonely Planet, aka LP, aka large blue book, tourist bible, call it what you may, have just released their annual top picks for travel in 2017.
Rather than stewing on the above life questions, take a look at what is most travellers’ favourite guide book, what are considered to be the top 10 cities, regions and countries to visit next year. Drawn from hundreds of ideas submitted by Lonely Planet’s staff, authors and extended community of travellers, bloggers and tweeters, the ‘Best in Travel’ is their biggest annual publication.
And while we can’t promise you won’t find yourself joined by countless other like-minded – or should that be like-read – travellers, destinations are at least chosen for their topicality, excitement, value and X-factor.
